If youve ever thought about filing bankruptcy or recently filed, this is a show you dont want to miss. Most people think of bankruptcy as a failure, but in fact it can be a fresh start or used as a financial strategy. My guest, Kymberly Jackson with The Phoenix Law Firm, will discuss the truth about bankruptcy and answer questions that many need to know. Mrs. Jackson is an attorney who provides bankruptcy protection services in the District of Columbia and in Maryland. Kymberly hopes to help individuals, couples and small businesses de-mystify and shed misplaced shame about the bankruptcy process. She wants to help people realize that bankruptcy does not require “poverty,” that this process is better used to protect assets before total financial ruin.Join us on Sunday, January 13th at 5:00 pm EST for a power pack show that is sure to set some folks free from bondage. Please invite others to join us as well. Listen live on 215-383-5771 and remember to submit questions to Credit with Chris Facebook page.

Theres a job you can get paid to do. The job you can get paid to do could be in your face every day. Watch your surroundings. Pay attention to jobs people are doing all around you. Identify the person you find most likely to be responsive and ask enough questions to get enough information about getting hired to work for that company or even to do the same job. Work on a plan to get the individual involved and wanting to help. Get enough information about the job so that it shows when you talk to the individual that you are informed and eager and you value their input. It could take more than one trip to the place but knowledge comes with a price. Well spent time, money and efforts is the way to SOAR to lifes successes.

The Community of Self - Jan 13,2013

The Community of Self talks about the African-American experience, not to reduce the generalizability of the concepts to one group of people, but because this is my cultural context. The African-American experience stands as one of the strongest examples of high human principles being able to endure despite environments of extreme opposition, and there is instruction in what we can offer the world about being human. Because of the seriousness of the assault on the African-American, our situation is also precarious. We need the attention of our thinkers for ourselves. We need to restore our communities and to understand and develop our communities of self. We need assistance in correction some serious problems in our psychology, our education, our economics, our families and our religious thinking. The Community of Self addresses all of these areas. It is intended to provoke thought and action. It is intended to stimulate an improved understanding of who we are, what we are and our potential to be something valuable to the world as we have been before and are destined to be again." Dr. NaIm Akbar Naim Akbar, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist at Florida State University. He is a prominent lecturer, author and recognized expert on the Psychology of Africans Americans. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Akbar has served as a professor of psychology at Morehouse College and at Norfolk State University. Community of Self is Akbars fifth book related to the issue of a holistic human psychology and an increased understanding of the African-American experience from an Islamic and an Afrocentric perspective.

The effects of U.S. Laws on youth today - Jan 14,2013

New health care law helps more than 3 million young adults get and keep health coverage A new report released today by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) shows that 3.1 million young adults have gained health insurance because of the health care law. Without the health care law – the Affordable Care Act – these 3.1 million young adults would not have health insurance. As a result of the law, the proportion of insured adults ages 19 through 25 has increased to nearly 75 percent. The Affordable Care Act requires insurers to allow young adults to remain on their parents' family plans until their 26 birthday, even if they move away from home or graduate from school. This policy took effect on September 23, 2010. “Today, because of the health care law, more than 3 million more young adults have health insurance,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “This policy doesn't just give young adults and their families peace of mind, it also gives them freedom. It means that as they begin their careers, they will be free to make choices based on what they want to do, not on where they can get health insurance.” Before the Affordable Care Act, young adults were the age group least likely to have health insurance. Not only were young adults more likely to be uninsured, they were also more than twice as likely as older adults to lose private insurance coverage once they had it. Some young adults lost coverage when they became too old to qualify as a dependent on their parents' plans, and others lost coverage as they graduated from school or changed jobs.

Danielle Murphy is a mildly autistic disabled adult. She lived with her aunt, Nancy Vallone, in Arizona. Nancy provided the best of care and medical treatment for Danielle and even moved to Ohio so Danielle could receive treatment from a the Cleveland Clinic Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. Shortly after the move, the Ohio's Advocacy and Protective Services Agency (APSI) took control of Danielle's case. They placed Danielle in a group home where she has been physically and sexually abused. APSI denies Danielle the treatment that Nancy moved to Ohio to receive. Worst of all, APSI isolates Danielle from receiving any visitors, including her Aunt Nancy.
